Other information – This carnivorous little species can be found mainly in southern Alabama. The plant can be identified by its small white flowers, glabrous flowering scapes, and roundish leaves.
The genus name Drosera derives from the Greek “droser(o)” meaning “dewy” from the sticky leaves.
The species epithet rotundifolia derives from the Latin “rotund” meaning “round” and “foli” meaning “a leaf” referring to the round ends of the leaves.
