Fatoua villosa Plant Identification (Flower, Leaf, Care, Uses)

Origin – Native to tropical Asia.

Other information – This weedy species can be found scattered throughout much of Alabama and is probably more common than reported. The plant can be identified by its toothed, alternate leaves, clusters of small flowers, and villosulous stems.
The genus name Fatoua is of unknown derivation.
The species epithet villosa derives from the Latin “villos” meaning “hairy” referring to the stems of the plant.
