Other information – This attractive species can be found in just a few southern Alabama counties. The plant can be identified by its small, dense, pubescent leaves and densely hairy calices. This shrub grows to about 1m tall.
The genus name Conradina is given in honor of Solomon White Conrad (1779-1831). Solomon was a botanist from Philadelphia.
The species epithet canescens derives from the Latin “canescen” meaning “becoming gray” referring to the hairiness of the plant.
